October Flames

Linda's voice:

Adorning fence posts and entwined around tree trunks, this wild vine passes virtually unnoticed all summer, until fall majestically transforms the mature plant, turning its leaves to crimson flames and painting its fruit rich purple. I think it deserves to be called by its more romantic French name - “vigne vierge”, virgin vine, rather than its rather common English name - “Virginia creeper”.
