Pansy

Linda's voice:

The English name “pansy” is a derivation from the French for thought - “pensée”. Every time I see a pansy, I think of my mother. As a very young child I remember picking pansies from her garden and helping her to arrange them in a special vase called a pansy ring, so that all their funny faces would smile up at me. We’ve exchanged pansies in one form or another over the years, my most treasured from her being a beautiful tablecloth she spent countless hours embroidering.
This painting was my gift to my mother on her 80th birthday.
